Before you join the group

Let's get you set up on Voxer

We use Voxer for our private ADHD group conversations. If you haven't used Voxer before, don't worry — getting set up is pretty straightforward.

Before joining the group, please set up your account and choose the name you'd like other group members to see.

Tick each step as you go. Once you've done something, the step will cross itself out so you can easily see where you're up to.

Step 1

Download Voxer on your phone from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and create your account.

You only need the free version of Voxer to participate in the group.

Step 2

To help protect your privacy, you can participate using your first name or a pseudonym if you'd prefer not to use your full name.

Choose something you're comfortable with other group members seeing and that you'd be happy for us to use when responding to you.

Step 3

Go into your Voxer profile or settings and check your username and profile name before joining the group.

If Voxer is showing your full name and you don't want other group members to see it, change it before you join.

Step 4

Have a quick look at the profile photo attached to your Voxer account.

If you'd prefer not to use a photograph of yourself, you don't need to. Change or remove it before joining the group.

Step 5

Before clicking your invitation to the group, check the name, username and profile photo on your Voxer account.

Make sure you're comfortable with what other members will be able to see.

Step 6

Once your account looks the way you want it to, you're ready to use the private Voxer invitation you've been given to join the group.

Step 7

You don't need to introduce yourself or post straight away.

Have a look around, get familiar with Voxer and see how the group works first.

When you're ready, you can type a message or send a voice message. You can also read and listen without posting.

A quick privacy reminder

Remember, Voxer is a group space.

Other group members can see the information you choose to share there.

Please don't share information you wouldn't want other members to know.

The group is an educational skills and support space. It isn't a private therapy session and isn't a place for urgent or crisis support.
