The Masking Audit

A free ten minute audit from Stephanie Green Psychology

Yeah, I'm great.when you are not
No, it's not too loud in here.it is
Ha, yes, exactly.you missed what they said

All the while inside feeling exhausted, resentful, confused and just plain overwhelmed.

Am I masking ADHD without knowing it? The signs are easy to miss, and tiredness is one of them.

Hello. Welcome. Nice to meet you.

I'm Stephanie Green, a psychologist and late diagnosed ADHDer. I've spent seventeen years working with people who are clever, capable and super worn out. So many of them have spent a lifetime performing so they can be included, so they can be accepted.

I made this audit because the effort of holding it all in often goes unnoticed, even by the person who's holding it together. Many ADHDers have a feeling of fatigue and they aren't really sure why.

It takes about ten minutes. Find a quiet spot, don't overthink it and trust your first answer. It's usually the truest one.

What ten minutes gets you

A clearer picture of how you mask, and what it's been costing you.

You'll work through the three ways masking shows up, hiding the signs, working around the gaps and blending in, and tick the ones that make you go, Oh, that's me. I do that!

Then you'll look at what it costs you, in your body, your mood, how you see yourself and your relationships. There's a positive view too, because a lifetime of masking speaks to the fact that you are skilled at observing people. You are aware of, and attuned to, what they want from you and what they need in order to feel heard or seen by you.

You'll finish with one small experiment to try this week, and somewhere that already feels safe enough to try it.

Eight pages. Ten minutes. No score, nothing to get right.
