Fees & Frequently Asked Questions

If you have never attended therapy or counselling, you might not be sure what to expect during sessions. Below are the answers to some common questions.

General

  • If you've been referred by a GP, we'll also review your Mental Health Treatment Plan and any other paperwork you’ve sent to me. Then, we typically spend the remainder of the session diving into the issues that led you to seek therapy and discussing the goals you have. It's a collaborative process and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

  • My aim is to help you make sense of what you’re feeling and why, and to give you practical ways to start feeling better. As we work together, you’ll build insight into yourself and your life, so you can feel more in control of your emotions and how you respond, even when things get tough. It’s really about supporting you on your journey towards self-understanding and emotional well-being.

  • You are welcome to bring any notes you have made about your situation. If you have any reports which might help explain what has been happening, you are welcome to bring those along for review and discussion.

  • Sessions are approximately 50 minutes long.

  • You can email me through my website, or call me direct.

  • I use Zanda’s secure, encrypted peer-to-peer session telehealth platform which provides a direct and secure connection between the psychologist and the client. You just click on a unique link to access your telehealth session – no logins, no downloads. It is ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR Compliant.

Fees & Rebates

  • For clients who are attending on a self-funded basis or using a GP Mental Health Care Plan fees are $200.00 per individual session.

  • If you have a referral from a GP or a psychiatrist for a Mental Health Treatment Plan you will be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $98.95 per individual session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

  • No, you do not need a referral. You can book an appointment with me without a referral from your GP or a psychiatrist.

  • Yes. If you have private health insurance that includes psychological counselling as extras cover, you may be eligible for a rebate. I recommended that you contact your individual insurance provider for further information about your individual coverage.

  • I offer assessments for Adult ADHD only. I do not write medico-legal reports for legal proceedings.

  • I see clients who are supported by Workcover or CTP funding, but do not provide services under any other third-party organisations at this time.
